Today we held the annual Alan Gardner Singles Competition at Luneside Bowling Club. Another sunny and warm day saw sixteen competitors battle it out for the trophy.
We began with four pools of league play before moving into the knockout stage. The semi-finals saw Graham face Cath, and Malc take on Jon, with Cath and Malc coming through to reach the final.
It made for a fantastic father-and-daughter final, after Cath played brilliantly to beat the reigning champion in her semi-final. In the end, despite Cath playing so well, it was Dad who came out on top, winning 13–6 to claim the trophy.
It was terrific to see Malc win the competition, especially as this is his first year playing for Luneside.
